Water... oh Water....

It has been quite some time before I add a new entry to this blog. And my son has finally managed to try his hand at blogging. Thank you for the comments - Trust me! He is soo... looking forward for comments made to his debut. And thank you so much for asking how I am doing. Well, I'm alive though not kicking - I have yet to have the energy to do any back-flip and triple somersaults but yes! I am happily regaining my health. Though the reason why I was hospitalised is quite embarrassing for me to mention, let me just say that I was badly dehydrated.

So, my advise to everyone is please take at least 8 glasses of water (WATER, ok? Not tea, coffee, cham, ipoh white coffee, etc., but the simple, plain water). It is Ok to have tea or coffee, etc., but please do not forget the good dose of plain water. In my case, I was advised to drink at least a good jug of plain water everyday. Well, to be frank, I am no fan of plain water. But, the pain and discomfort that I endured "those fateful days" made me more than willing to follow the regime day after day. I am just glad that my ultrasound revealed that there is no abnormalities in my liver (no focal lesions), gallbladder (no gallstone or polyp & no GB wall thickening), bile ducts (not dilated), kidneys (no stone, mass or hydronephrosis in either), pancreas and paraaortic areas. Indeed, I am happy (:-D

  2. Salam and nice to hear that you're regaining your health, (lucky thing that you said it's still ok to have coffee or tea besides the 8 glasses of plain water). Water is essential to the normal functioning of our body, i mean having sufficient water intake.

You may probably have heard of those old folks who go to Mecca and they came back saying that they're much healthier whilst there. Question is why, well, besides the spiritual fulfillment, these old folks esp who don't usually drink much water at home in Malaysia but when they're in Mecca they tend to drink usually 1 cup of zamzam water before the prayers and at least another cup after the prayers before leaving the grand mosque for their hotel. This means that they drink at least 10 plastic cups of zamzam water everyday and if the weather is hot they'll drink up more and it's all spread out throughout the day. This is more than the 8 glasses of water that you mentioned in yr post. And the zamzam water is full of minerals & the alkalinity is rather high and that makes the zamzam water so nice & sweet to drink.

So what you can really do is that you can follow the same formula, before & after your 5 daily prayers one glass each time and you'll have your more than 8 glasses already. It's so easy to develop this habit. Next, try switching from the normal or boiled water to alkaline water, you may need to invest a bit in a good set of alkaline water filter, the resultant alkaline water may not be as good as zamzam water but the alkalinity is sufficiently high for normal drinking purposes & cooking too. Alkaline water does wonders to your health, go read up on the subject.

  4. Salam Bluesman (:-D

Now that you mention it, ya! I think it is a very logical explanation as to the many stories of being healthy while they are performing Hajj. And thank you for the suggestion. I'll take a jug up to my room with a mug so as not to forget taking my daily dose before & after prayers. A very good suggestion. Thank you. Oh yes! BTW, I'll be taking a trip this weekend - there's something worrying me at the moment but since we have arranged for the trip, we'll go ahead and sort whatever that's worrying me when we comes back next Wednesday. We are leaving for Cameron Highland after Friday prayer. stay overnight there. Tomorrow we will start our journey to Kuala Koh (again!) We'll camp for 2 nights. The third night we will spend in the chalet. Tuesday we'll continue our journey to Kuala Terengganu via Kuala Berang. We'll be back Wednesday. Till then, you have a good weekend ya! And do spend some time with your arowana - it needs TLC too! (:-D Salam to Anna - I hope she is in the pink of health. Opps! Anyway, as I said earlier what's life without coffee? Hehehe!

  9. Hi [danial][ma] (:-D

Yeah ... I'm in the process of "detoxing" - Actually now that I am taking a jugful of plain water daily, I somehow feel lighter and healthier too. I have to agree that water does a lot of good to the body.
